Vimal Deepchand
Managing Director
Vimal holds a Bcom (Economics and Finance) from the University of Cape Town and has 15 years’ of experience in the financial services sector, out which 14 years in asset management and 10 years at senior management level. He was the Head of Investments at AfrAsia Capital Management Ltd where he successfully managed several pension funds, collective investment schemes and other discretionary investment mandates. More recently, he was the Head of Asset Management at SBM Group where he successfully uplifted the ailing asset management business of the group and set up an integrated capital market. He also co-founded a financial services consultancy company with the aim to widen service offerings which commensurate better with the set of skills he acquired over the years.
Krishna Chocalingum
Project Lead – Corporate Finance
Mr. Chocalingum has been serving as Project Lead – Corporate Finance at Maxima Capital Management Ltd since June 2021. In this capacity, he has led capital raising exercises for both private and listed companies and carried out extensive financial research to assess investment opportunities. He has evaluated financial statements, forecasts, and risk factors to support investment decisions, while preparing detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for portfolio managers and stakeholders. He has developed financial models to project returns, assess valuations, and optimize strategies, and has tracked asset performance to identify trends and potential risks. His portfolio analysis has combined top down macroeconomic frameworks with bottom up company fundamentals to uncover opportunities. He holds a BA and a BIB in International Business and Hospitality Management, has earned a Cryptocurrency Fundamentals Certification from Chainalysis, and is an associate member of the CFA Institute.
